The goal of mindset coaching is to shift your perception of things and how they relate to you. When you shift your perception of things, you changes how you respond to them.
When you change your internal perception of things, you will respond better to them. For example, when negative thoughts dominate your mindspace, you will fail to see potential in things and people. You will also fail to notice what is going on around you because these negative thoughts are dominant.
When positive thoughts dominate the mindspace, people can see potential in everything and everyone. This positive thinking comes from a different set of internal perceptions than those associated with the negative side of mindspace.
The power of self-talk
In between sitting at your desk, commuting to work, or while being treated to a shopping spree, you can make a difference by changing how you talk to yourself.
We all hear the words that come out of our own mouths, but do we really listen to them? Many of us speak to ourselves in ways that are negative and demeaning.
We may think to ourselves as we go about our daily business affairs, “What can I say to make this better?” But how much effort you put into this self-talk goes up as you go down the list.
And while self-loathing speech tends to follow us around, it won’t help us move forward. More importantly, it may make us feel worse than if we were to replace the words with more positive ones.
Developing your self-talk
It’s been described as your thoughts that you don’t want to think, but you have to if you want to survive and thrive in the midst of life’s challenges.
Self-talk is a form of thought that we give ourselves. We put what we think about ourselves into words and then we think about how positive that sounds to others.
If you don’t now what “positive thinking” means, there are many ways to define it. It doesn’t matter how hard you try to believe in yourself, some people will not believe in you.
Beliefs and ideas can make a big difference in how we feel and what we do. For instance, people who believe they are not good enough may struggle with self-compassion when they suffer from pain.
Crafting your affirmations
You can make more positive statements such as: I’m a good person, I’m capable, I’m worthy, etc.
Conceptually, these statements are the same as saying you believe something, but in this case the “something” is you. By firmly affirming yourself with positive thoughts and sentences, you can change your behavior and emotions in a profound and lasting way.
These statements can be made at different levels of consciousness. When you are mindfully affirming yourself at your lowest level of consciousness (your subconscious), these less-ambitious statements may be all that you need to get rid of bad feelings and start changing things.
At a higher level of consciousness (your brain), these more ambitious statements can be thought-up and put into action by just yourself.
Using the ‘present tense’
The present tense is using the opposite of what you are doing to do. When we speak in the present tense, we are giving our thoughts and emotions more energy.
When we think in the past or talk in the negative, we are using our energy in those ways. By using the present tense with our thoughts and emotions, we create a more positive energy.
The present tense was developed to help us improve our mindset. We can use this to enhance our performance at work, during stressful times, or even during career transitions.
The simplest way to use the present tense is by thinking about what you just did. For example, if you just walked out of your house, then you can say: I am now walking out of my house with a smile on my face.
We can also think about things that have worked for us or things that have failed but made me stronger from that experience.
Keep it simple
You do not need to create complex positive affirmations to get you where you want to go. You just need to understand how they work and be willing to use them.
Many people find success by combining several of these thoughts into one affirmation. So, for example, you can think positive thoughts about the things you want to happen in your life and I promise that something will happen.
This isn’t a magic method that will force things to happen, this is a simple way to help your mind make more positive conscious decisions about your life.
There are many ways to create affirmations, but the most basic ones are: I am (something important) who (something negative) so (something positive)

Make them personal
Make your positive affirmations personal. You can do this by making them about you or around you.
If you focus your positive thoughts and feelings on people or situations that are close to you, it will strengthen your self-confidence and make you more willing to act in their interests.
By making your blessings personal, you will be more likely to accept them as part of the nature of things. When things don’t work out the way you want them to, you can look at how difficult it was for you to accept what you’re accepting and how easy it was for others to accept.
You may have heard a phrase that goes, “There are no damned wishes left, just like that.”You will know when it has worked because things stop failing and changing, and they become happening instead.
Positive affirmations can be made in several ways. One method is to write down a list of things that You should be happy with every day.
